Officer walks up to a house where extremely loud dramatic orchestral music is blasting. Windows shaking slightly from bass. Officer knocks on the door. Music immediately stops. Long pause. Door slowly opens. Inside: a guy in full medieval knight armor. Helmet on. Holding a plastic sword. Very serious. Officer: “Evening… we got a noise complaint.” Small pause. Knight nods slowly. “Yes.” Officer: “…what’s going on?” Knight: “I was preparing.” Officer: “For?” Knight looks past the officer at the dark street. “They’re coming.” Silence. Officer: “Who’s coming?” Knight gestures vaguely. “Them.” Beat. Officer looks around. Empty cul-de-sac. Completely quiet. Officer: “Sir… it’s 11:47 PM.” Knight: “They strike at midnight.” Officer pauses. “…this is a townhouse complex.” From inside the house, Alexa suddenly says loudly: “Reminder: Rent due tomorrow.” Long silence. Officer slowly looks back at the knight. Knight slowly lowers sword. “…that’s them.” Officer: “That’s your landlord.” Small pause. Knight exhales. “Worse.” Neighbor’s porch light turns on. Someone yells faintly: “Turn it down!” Officer: “Can you keep the music off?” Knight nods solemnly. “It was battle ambience.” Officer: “Appreciate it.” Knight starts closing door. Stops. Opens it again slightly. “…would you join the watch?” Officer stares. “No.” Knight nods respectfully. “Understood.” Door closes. From inside, faintly: “Alexa, play lo-fi.” Freeze frame. Body cam beep.
