It undergoes a 'pancake collapse,' with the upper tiers falling vertically into the lower sections, crushing the iron lattice downward toward the ground rather than toppling over. As the massive structure hits the earth, a massive, volumetric cloud of grey dust and debris billows outward, swallowing the overgrown Trocadéro gardens.
