Firelight flickers across the dog’s face. The firefighter looks down at the dog. The dog slowly stands up and takes a few steps toward the building — then stops and looks back. The firefighter hesitates… then follows. Inside, smoke fills the hallway. The dog stops at a doorway where a trapped person is visible. Cut to outside: the person is safe. Final shot: the firefighter kneels. The dog sits beside him, unmoving.
