Once in the heart of the Whispering Woods, there lived a little rabbit named Barnaby. Barnaby was not the biggest rabbit, nor was he the fastest. But Barnaby had a secret: he had a heart full of "brave." One evening, as the moon began to glow like a giant silver coin, Barnaby noticed that his best friend, Pip the Squirrel, had left his favorite blue marble by the Old Willow Tree. "Oh no," Barnaby whispered. "Pip can't sleep without his lucky marble! I must take it to him." The Journey Begins The path to Pip’s oak tree was long, and the sun had already tucked itself behind the hills. To a little bunny, the shadows looked like dancing giants. Barnaby took a deep breath. He wiggled his pink nose. Twitch, twitch, twitch. He fluffed up his white tail. Poof, poof, poof. "I am brave," Barnaby said to the wind. "I am a Brave Bunny." The Brave Bunny’s Path As he hopped along, he encountered three "scary" things: The Tall Grass: It rustled and hissed. Barnaby didn't run. He realized it was just the wind tickling the blades of green. The Big Shadow: A dark shape loomed over the path! Barnaby stood tall and saw it was just a friendly sunflower nodding in the breeze. The Hooting Sound: A loud Whoo-Whoo echoed through the trees. Barnaby looked up and saw Mr. Owl. "Good evening, Barnaby," Mr. Owl chirped. "You're out late!" "I'm on a mission!" Barnaby replied proudly. A Hero's Rest Barnaby finally reached Pip’s tree. He tucked the blue marble safely into the roots where Pip would find it first thing in the morning. By now, Barnaby’s long ears were drooping, and his eyes felt very heavy. He hopped all the way back to his cozy burrow, which was lined with soft moss and dried clover. He curled into a warm little ball. He wasn't afraid of the dark anymore, because he knew that the dark was just the world’s way of saying, "Time to dream." "Goodnight, Whispering Woods," Barnaby whispered. And the Brave Bunny fell fast asleep. The Big Shadow: A dark shape loomed over the path!
