I woke up at 3:17 AM because someone whispered my name. My room was dark. My phone screen was off. The whisper was calm. Too calm. I sat up slowly and looked around. My bedroom door was closed. Locked from the inside. I knew I locked it before sleeping. My heart started racing. Then the whisper came again, closer. “Don’t turn around.” I froze. I felt warm breath on the back of my neck.
