Neck extremely thin. Back curved. Tail completely still. Each step looks painful. He stumbles once, recovers, keeps coming. A quiet voice off-camera says, “They adopted you.” The dog lifts his head and cries softly — not a bark, more like a farewell sound. The woman breaks, falls to her knees, arms open. The dog reaches her and presses his fragile body into her chest, barely holding himself up. She hugs him tightly and begins sobbing, shoulders shaking. The dog rests his head against her, breathing slow and heavy, unmoving now. No music. No edits. Just silence and shelter sounds. Cut.
