From my worn, threadbare perch, I watch the grand parade of the world drift by: storefronts, shifting cityscapes, and the hypnotic sway of her confident stride, all framed in the close-up intimacy of well-loved denim. For a darkly funny twist, my tall, lanky young asian and Black male friends, in shirts, skinny Levi’s 510s, and high-top sneakers, stroll over and start checking her out, unaware I’m her tab. With dramatic angles, over-the-top close-ups, and the constant hum of the city, this tiny, absurd vantage point somehow becomes its own hilariously immersive little universe.
